The famous Russian AKS-74UN is the compact carbine variant of the AK-74.
The S standing for "Skladnoy" or Folded, U for "Ukorochenny" or Shortened and the N designating that it is compatible with night vision scopes or other dovetail style optics.
The AKS-74UN was widly used mainly by vehicle crews, officers, support crews, and recon units requiring the short compact form of the AKS-74UN.
